September 21, 22, & 23, 2012

The Monument Valley Film, Blues and Arts Festival is the first and only Native American festival of its kind to be held on the Navajo Nation. The goal of the film festival is to bring Native made films to the people of the Navajo Nation who otherwise would not have the opportunity or means to see these films. It is also an opportunity for emerging and seasoned film makers to present their work to a primarily all Native audience.

The Monument Valley Film, Blues and Arts Festival is a free event held every year
in Kayenta, Arizona, the heart of the Navajo Nation. The event began as a
simple small film festival financed and organized by local film makers Shonie
and Andee De La Rosa of Sheephead Films.

Over the years the event has grown considerably larger in popularity. The addition
of the Blues Festival and Artists Market last year and this year has added even
more diverse Native talent for the public to enjoy and appreciate during the
three day free event in Kayenta, Arizona.

The Monument Valley Film, Blues and Arts Festival is financed, sponsored and
organized by a number of local businesses, individuals, and organizations throughout
the Navajo Nation. Without their support, this event would not be possible.
Please see our Sponsor Page for the list of our generous sponsors and
supporters.

With that said, please come out and enjoy three great days of Native talent and creativity in beautiful Kayenta, Arizona.

Thank you,

Shonie De La Rosa

The Monument Valley Film, Blues and Arts Festival Coordinator
